Introduction

Group Discussion is a methodology used by companies to access whether the candidate has the required personality traits or skills. It helps the recruiters to access the leadership qualities, communication abilities, flexibility, and group behavior of a candidate within the allotted time frame.

In this methodology, a group of candidates is given a topic or case study, a few minutes to think about the topic and then 20 – 30 minutes to discuss the topic among themselves.

Group Discussions help in shortlisting of candidates as a part of the overall selection process. It is necessary for the candidates to not only know the dos and don’ts of group discussions but also thoroughly understand the group discussion procedure` and the ways of participating in a group discussion effectively.
